Downieville Stars in Fictional Novel!

Mike Sirota's new novel, The Burning Ground, takes place in Lodestar, California. The research for this book took place in Downieville and is about ghosts and gold mining.  This contemporary story takes place over a period of nine days encompassing Labor Day weekend 2012, with Lodestar hosting an annual event called Gold Rush Days which brings hordes of tourists to bolster the town's economy.  A grave robber desecrates an ancient Maidu burial ground in search of artifacts.  Now the vengeful spirits unleash a bloodbath that threatens the town of Lodestar.

The book will be published on February 14 by ZOVA Books.  Follow Mike's blog at: www.mikesirota.wordpress.com

I had the pleasure of meeting Mike and am looking forward to reading this novel! Sounds like a winner!
